Daniel Garcia
Some of my earliest memories are of my dad sitting on our desktop computer from 1995, bidding on old vintage cameras on eBay. Our road trips consisted of him suddenly pulling the car over on the side of the road, to try to capture an old barn or bridge he found intriguing.
It irritated me to no end.
And now here I am, 20 years later. Pulling over the car on road trips to try to capture what I (hope) is intriguing. I learned, after years of rolling my eyes at my dads cameras, what made photography so fun.
We grew up in San Jose, California. And while there was a lot of beauty around, it wasn't until 2005 when we moved to Oregon I realized how fortunate we were to have incredible mountains, waterfalls, forests and deserts only a short drive away.
Photography became a way for me to share what I saw with friends, family, and my dad.
Fast forward to now. Living just outside of Portland, trying to make the jump from a hobbyist to a professional, I find myself looking back to those early days in the car. Trying to stay true to the simplicity of those early days while growing with the inevitable changes life brings.
Its a journey that's never dull.
I hope you enjoy the work I put out there. I am always open to comments, questions, or just a "Hello!".
